James & Partners Talent is recruiting a Financial Advisor for an established international wealth management business specialising in financial planning for British nationals living in, moving to and returning from Europe.
Based in Annecy, you will join the firm’s French advisory operation, combining responsibility for existing client relationships with a clear focus on attracting new clients and growing assets under advice. The opportunity offers an established professional platform, company-generated enquiries and access to specialist technical support.
The client proposition brings together investment planning, pensions, tax and estate planning, with particular emphasis on the interaction between clients’ UK financial affairs and their lives in France.
The role
Develop new client relationships through marketing enquiries, referrals and your own professional networks.
Convert enquiries into financial-planning engagements and ongoing advisory relationships.
Review existing clients’ circumstances, objectives and portfolios, identifying suitable opportunities for additional investment.
Work with tax, pension and investment specialists on financial-planning needs involving both France and the UK.
Help clients understand their options around retirement income, investment structures and succession planning.
Maintain clear suitability records, accurate client information and consistent follow-up.
Work closely with the French regional team and central enquiry team to progress opportunities.
Build relationships that generate repeat business and introductions over time.
Your background
A minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or Regulated Financial Planning.
Level 6 qualifications or Chartered status would be advantageous.
Experience providing regulated financial advice to private clients.
A demonstrable record of winning clients, developing referrals and converting enquiries into business.
Sound knowledge of investment planning, pensions, risk assessment and suitability.
Experience advising UK clients; expatriate or cross-border experience would be particularly relevant.
Knowledge of the French financial-planning environment would be beneficial.
Strong organisation, communication and digital record-keeping skills.
The opportunity
You will have access to existing client relationships, marketing support, paraplanning, administration and specialist technical teams. Structured induction, mentoring and continuing development support advisors as they establish themselves within the business.
There is no requirement to bring a transferable client book.
The position is linked to the Annecy office and combines office contact with client meetings and home working where appropriate. Travel and working patterns depend on the client base. It is not a fully remote appointment.
