Financial Advisor — Catalonia, Spain
Salary: €150,000 per annum
Location: Catalonia, Spain
James & Partners Talent is recruiting a Financial Advisor for an established international wealth management business serving British nationals and expatriate clients in Spain.
This appointment focuses on developing business across Catalonia. It will suit an advisor who combines sound financial-planning knowledge with the ability to build relationships, convert enquiries and consistently win new clients.
The firm provides a broad private-client proposition covering investments, pensions, tax and estate planning. Advisors work within an established support structure, with access to specialist colleagues, marketing resources and client enquiries.
The role
Develop new advisory relationships across Catalonia through enquiries, referrals and professional networking.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, progressing opportunities through to implementation.
Understand clients’ financial circumstances, objectives and attitude to risk before developing suitable recommendations.
Advise on investment and retirement-planning needs, drawing on specialist support where appropriate.
Work with colleagues on financial-planning matters involving UK assets, pensions and clients’ circumstances in Spain.
Review existing relationships and identify suitable opportunities for additional investment and referrals.
Explain the firm’s proposition clearly and establish long-term trust with prospective clients.
Maintain accurate records, clear suitability documentation and reliable follow-up.
Your background
A minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or Regulated Financial Planning.
Experience delivering regulated financial advice to private clients.
A demonstrable record of acquiring clients, converting enquiries and developing assets under advice.
Strong knowledge of investment planning, pensions and client suitability.
Experience working with UK clients, with expatriate or international experience particularly relevant.
Confidence developing professional relationships and asking for referrals.
The ability to organise your own activity and manage opportunities across a regional territory.
Knowledge of the Spanish financial-planning environment or an established local network would be advantageous.
The opportunity
The firm’s advisory model combines existing client relationships with new-business development, supported by marketing, administration, paraplanning and specialist technical teams. Structured induction and ongoing training will help you understand the proposition and develop within the business.
You do not need to bring an existing transferable client book. The emphasis is on your advisory capability, professional standards and ability to develop business.
This is an office-linked position covering Catalonia. Working arrangements combine client meetings, regular contact with the wider team and home working where appropriate. The role requires flexibility to travel within the territory and is not fully remote.
For a confidential discussion, please submit your CV to James & Partners Talent, outlining your qualifications, business-development experience and current location.
