Dear valued clients,

In recent weeks, we have been actively providing valuable content to our candidates, assisting them in building stronger relationships with themselves, recruiters, and employers. However, it's important to remember that this is just one side of the equation. We would like to share five ways in which you can support us in helping you achieve your goals.

1.) Recognise that young professionals who switch jobs are not necessarily "job hoppers." They are simply exploring their options and finding their footing. It's essential to consider the bigger picture, especially given that between March 2020 and December 2020 alone, 825,000 people in the UK lost their jobs. A CV doesn't always convey the full story.

2.) When engaging with candidates, it is crucial to present your best offer promptly. Candidates dislike being strung along, and with each passing day, their interest in your company diminishes. We frequently receive feedback from candidates who have had excellent interviews and are excited about potential opportunities, only to find themselves waiting for weeks without an offer. Rest assured that they will be exploring other possibilities during this time.

3.) Rejecting candidates is a natural part of the process, but it's important to do so in a timely manner. Offering constructive advice on how they can improve for their next interview is a valuable gesture. By doing so, candidates will appreciate that you took their time seriously and provided guidance for their professional growth.

4.) Place trust in your recruiter. If you have a dedicated recruiter who consistently seeks feedback, provides feedback, requests additional roles to work on, and follows up on previous placements, it demonstrates their commitment. While you are not obligated to interview every candidate we recommend, please consider our enthusiasm for a particular individual, as it may align with your own impressions.

5.) Maintain availability and open lines of communication. The confidence to reach out to your client and knowing that they will respond promptly can make a world of difference. Showing appreciation and support to your recruiter will result in increased candidate flow, more interviews, and successful placements.

Thank you for considering these suggestions. By working together, we can foster stronger collaborations and achieve mutual success.

Every so often, we hear the same refrain: “But another recruiter offered to do it for 10%.” It’s a fair question for clients to ask—but it also reveals the difference between a transactional recruiter and a true talent advisory partner. If cost is the only differentiator, then something fundamental is being overlooked: the level of investment required to run a modern, high-performing recruitment and advisory service.
